Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a FULL TIME CLEANER in the JANITORIAL
DEPARTMENT. The primary function of this position is to perform all general
housekeeping duties, such as, clean rooms and other work areas so that health
standards are met; clean carpets using vacuum cleaners; and empty wastebaskets
and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Be able to sweep, scrub
floors using brooms and mops. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Be able
to lift chairs for set up and take down. Keep storage areas and carts
well-stocked, clean, and tidy. The hours are Monday-Friday 9:00-5:30pm with
other hours as needed. The location is at the Pitt County Courthouse.
Position Requirements:
Background
check must be favorable to work in a Pitt County office building including
approval for working in the Detention Center entrance (which means a person must not have been an inmate in a detention
center within the past 10 years, must pass criminal history check).
Dependable transportation and excellent attendance is a must. The starting
salary is $7.85/hour with an increase to $8.24/hour after successfully
completing the 90-day trial period.
