Supervisor in Recycling

 Supervisor (Split-Shift)
in Recycling (MRF)

ECVC has an opening for a full-time Supervisor in recycling.  Eastern Carolina Vocational Center is looking for military personnel in transitioning or a veteran for this position. This Supervisor’s hours will be Monday-Thursday 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm and 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on Fridays. The primary function of this position is to be responsible for directing activities of production workers engaged in the recycling areas.  The second shift crew will work from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The majority of the workers on this shift will be ex-offenders. 
During the 12:30 to 4:30 shift, this Supervisor will be working on the line with the Sorters and assisting the day Supervisor. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gives oral instructions to workers pertaining to types, quality, and quantity of items to be processed.
  • Enforces safety regulations.
  • Notifies team leader of any deficiencies in production or material handling equipment.
  • Maintains time sheets, production records, and other documents related to training, production, and quality.
  • Trains worker in proper work methods, appropriate behaviors, and quality requirements.
  • Communicates work area needs and/or problems to Team Leader.
  • Models how work is to be performed and/or fills in on conveyor line when needed.
A high school diploma or GED is required; CRC Preferred. Also, 1-2 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting is required.  Dependable transportation and excellent attendance is a must.

Product Development Packaging Engineer

JOB TITLE: Product Development Packaging Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Product Development
LOCATION: Greenville, North Carolina
I. QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
·       BS in engineering or equivalent technical degree
·       Demonstrates high degree of proficiency using AutoCAD software
·       General knowledge of corrugate sizing and unit load configuration software
·       Knowledge of design of experiments as well as machine trial planning & execution
·       General knowledge of data storage, data reporting, and data analysis
·       Aptitude for devices utilizing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic processes
·       Understanding of project management techniques
·       Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
·       Demonstrates high degree of Proficiency in MS Office
·       Knowledge of statistical techniques to make data driven decisions

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL
·       Knowledge of disposable personal care products and packaging processes
·       Knowledge of packaging materials used in disposable personal care products
·       Knowledge and utilization of project management software

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·       Packaging phases within the product development process
·       Product & bag die drawings
·       Packaging specification files
·       Unit load configurations
·       Current and future case size and unit load optimization
·       Prepare, plan, and conduct packaging machine trials to qualify new sizes and concepts
·       Analyze machine trial results, present findings, and recommend next steps
·       Expected to work directly with packaging suppliers to establish internal specifications

III. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
·       Can effectively maintain multiple active projects at the same time
·       Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and work directly with operations personnel
·       Can effectively present findings to executive groups, customers, and plant personnel
·       Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in multifunctional groups
·       CRC preferred

SUPERVISES: No direct reports, but will supervise when activities require

Industrial Electrician

Weyerhaeuser Plymouth sawmill, located in Plymouth, NC - has an opening for a skilled Industrial Electrician.
The role requires strong electrical technical skills along with strong mechanical skills in this multi-craft environment.
Key Functions
Troubleshooting and maintaining various mill wide electrical systems that encompass this lumber manufacturing environment; diagnosing and repairing issues with motors, controllers, PLC; reading blueprints, schematics & diagrams; providing PLC programming, both in troubleshooting and upgrading systems; and running conduit and wiring/rewiring systems.

Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical, industrial maintenance and construction skills
  • 5+ years experience preferred in PLC programming and trouble shooting skills Good computer and network skills
  • Experience in variable speed AC & DC drives
  • Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift
  • Position require the willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climbing stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in an environment containing wood dust and extreme heat or cold

This candidate needs to be a positive, energetic and resourceful person capable of managing a warehouse so that material is sorted, inventoried, stored, and shipped according to standards and using all resources at his or her disposal. Forklift Operator

FORKLIFT OPERATOR
 in E-RECYCLING

ECVC has an opening for a Forklift Operator in E-Recycling. This position is responsible for manually moving materials to the proper place in the E-Recycling warehouse. Loads, unloads and moves materials within a work area. Supply materials to workers in order to maintain the proper flow. The ideal person needs to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Move controls to drive forklifts to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
  • Move levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts and lift beams to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
  • Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning forklift and recharging batteries.
  • Safely move load around the warehouse to ensure timely and complete storage.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information.
  • Weigh materials or products, and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.

Dependable transportation and excellent attendance is a must; CRC preferred.
