Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for an Employment Specialist in the PROGRAMS department. This position is primarily responsible for assisting persons with disabilities gain competitive employment and provides one-on-one training in community-based work settings.

Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities are: 
  • Developing and maintaining contact with employers within the local business community

  • Evaluating individuals’ progress

Job Coach

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a JOB COACH in the PROGRAMS Department. This position is primarily responsible for assisting persons with disabilities with employment readiness, provides one-on-one training, assists with gaining employment, and provides on-going support services in community-based work settings. 75% of all task time expected to occur in community settings vs office work after initial training period.

Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities are: 
  • Maintain brand standards in representing the organization/consumer with employers. 
  • Hands on instruction with consumers in learning about how to perform job duties. 
  • Encourage development of appropriate work skills and behaviors. 
  • Daily documentation of consumer progress. 
  • Completes intake process with clients 
  • Locate barriers of client employment, such as inflexible schedules and transportation problems and work with clients to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers.

Front Loader/Equipment Operator


Front Loader / Equipment Operator

Power Resource Group and its affiliates (collectively, PRG) is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Front Loader / Equipment Operator, at the Carolina Poultry Power Biomass plant and Agricultural Services Company plant, joining a dynamic team to drive the performance of waste to energy projects.
PRG is a vertically organized developer, owner and operator of waste to energy and renewable energy projects (waste to energy, biomass and solar) having a strong pipeline of projects under construction or in development and presence in the US and Canada.

Position Summary
Several equipment operators required to cover 24/7 hours of operation at the plant. Standard OSHA-certifications and requirements, which the Company will assist in obtaining for the right candidate. Operators will assist in general maintenance activities during periods when feedstock loading is not required.

Location
One position is required for the Carolina Poultry Power (“CPP”) biomass plant is a 1.7 MWe and 13 MWt biomass-fueled renewable energy power plant that produces electricity, steam and hot water for process use. The fuel consists primarily of processed poultry litter from a local processing facility.
The energy produced supports the health of the agricultural industry, mitigates greenhouse gases (is “carbon neutral”), reduces land application of raw poultry litter and supports the electric grid in North Carolina. It is expected that the plant will begin commercial operations in the summer of 2019.
The CPP biomass plant is located in Farmville, NC.
Two positions are required for the Agricultural Services Company (“ASC”) feedstock processing plant.  The ASC plant processes about 230 tons per day of poultry litter into biomass feedstock.
The ASC processing plant is located in La Grange, NC.

Responsibilities and Duties
·       Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection
·       Operate all equipment functions independently and safely, including moving levers to lower/raise and tilt bucket, driving equipment forward
·       Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment;
·       Coordinate loader activities with other drivers and operators
·       Conduct positioning or moving of loads in response to hand or audio signals from team members
·       Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary and maintain safe distances
·       Ability to stockpile materials
·       Ability to perform minor repairs to equipment
·       Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
·       Assist trucks and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles
·       Adhere to site specific rules and regulations
·       Fill out equipment log daily
·       Prepare accident reports
·       Perform other plant and yard duties as assigned

Requirements
·       1-3 years industry experience
·       Basic Safety Orientation certification
·       Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
·       Must be dependable, punctual and flexible
·       In good physical condition in relation to job requirements
·       Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

Yard supervisor to oversee the receiving, processing, scale operation and delivery of the poultry litter and poultry derived feedstock.   The Yard Supervisor will supervise operators, laborers, helpers, and material movers as well as operate the scale and perform various equipment and yard maintenance tasks to keep the facility meets feedstock production and shipping schedules, product quality and safety requirements of the company.

Location
The position is required for the Agricultural Services Company (“ASC”) feedstock processing plant.  The ASC plant processes about 230 tons per day of poultry litter into biomass feedstock.

Responsibilities and Duties
·       Supervise, co-ordinate and daily schedule the activities of workers and temp workers to ensure litter receipt and processing, feedstock inventory and shipment to the energy plant.
·       Conduct and document daily workplace walks; inspect product quality; observe for unsafe acts and unsafe conditions; and resolve workers and safety concerns and problems.
·       Assist in setting-up equipment and troubleshoot quality and machine problems and ensure that systems/equipment operate efficiently and effectively.
·       Coordinate litter delivery activities with delivery drivers and operators
·       Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of shipments as required.
·       Operate the scale and delivery ticket system
·       Inspect, verify and perform quality audits of incoming litter and outgoing feedstock, record variances and reject non-conforming litter.
·       Route feedstock to energy plant or to appropriate storage areas.
·       Communicate with headquarters and the CPP plant about feedstock deliveries
·       Supervise the litter processing and drying operations to ensure quality requirements of the feedstock are met or exceeded
·       Monitoring litter and feedstock inventory and logistics to ensure the 30 day feedstock inventory is maintained
·       Ability to perform equipment inspections and minor repairs to equipment
·       Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
·       Assist trucks and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles
·       Adhere to site specific rules and regulations
·       Fill out equipment log daily
·       Prepare accident reports
·       Perform general yard duties and upkeep as required

Requirements
·       5-7 years industry experience in a farming or poultry litter logistics environment
·       Basic Safety Orientation certification
·       Heavy equipment operating experience is a plus
·       Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
·       Must be dependable, punctual and flexible
·       In good physical condition in relation to job requirements
·       Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
