Vocational Assessment Specialist

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a Vocational Assessment Specialist.  The person in this position will provide vocational services to individuals within 6 counties (Pitt, Beaufort, Craven, Carteret, Jones & Pamlico).  Consumers come from all disability populations of various ages 16 and up. Requirements for a Vocational Assessment Specialist are a 4 year degree in a human service field with coursework in tests, work samples, and situational assessment or 2 years of post-graduate relevant work experience.   M.S. with a certificate in Vocational Evaluation preferred. This position may supervise individuals in group and one-on-one settings during career exploration activities such as testing, job shadowing and volunteering in the community.  As a result of these activities, this person will prepare a written report of findings and observations with recommendations for service planning.  Examples of areas in report to include: work readiness, level of on the job support needed, specific job goals, job interests and demonstrated abilities.   Individuals must be able to work autonomously and have a clean driving record to use company vehicles.

Must be able to work with various types of hand and power tools, and must have mechanical assembly experience or automotive related experience. Permanent hire opportunity. CRC Preferred. Pay is $10/hr to start

MIG Welders - Job duties include, working from blueprints, specifications, and instructions. Work includes setting speed, feed and temperature controls, locating work fixture, keeping machine loaded with welding wire, cleaning work before welding to insure good welds, loading and unloading work, and making machine adjustments to maintain quality welds. Performs own layout when fixture is not available.

Qualifications include, passing a welder certification test, minimum of 6 months MIG welding experience, ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches. High School diploma/ GED required. Permanent hire opportunity. CRC Preferred. Pay is $12/hr to start.

Automation Machine Operator

Position:  Automation Machine Operator  

Hours:  7am-3pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Operate medical assembly automation machine

§  Assist employees in changing over from one lot to the next lot

§  Ensure daily production goals are reached and scrap is kept at a minimum

§  Troubleshoot equipment issues that create downtime or poor quality

§  Perform regular preventative maintenance on the equipment

Requirements:

§  High School Diploma or GED, Technology based Associates Degree in preferred.

§  Three years experience operating and maintaining automation equipment.

§  Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred.

§  Experience with 6-axis robots preferred.

§  Experience with pneumatic systems preferred.

§  This position requires the ability read, comprehend, and follow the Operating Instructions, Manufacturing Specifications, and Technical Documents.

§  Basic math skills required to accurately count and record part production.  Calculators may be used.

§  This position requires eyesight (corrected or uncorrected) capable of performing visual quality inspections on parts.

§  CRC Preferred.
