Machine Operator

CMI Plastics, Inc., located in Ayden, NC - has a job position for a Machine Operator. This individual will be responsible for installing molds, setting up, operating and process trouble-shooting. Position is for 1st-shift; Mon-Fri, from 6am-2pm. Starting pay range is between $12/hr - $14/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities
-      Install thermoforming production tooling and peripheral devices at a high level of accuracy with minimum downtime.
-      Adjust machine parameters to process new and repeat tooling with minimum waste.
-      Monitor machinery and work areas and make recommendations to operators on more efficient techniques or methods.
-      Assist in line clearing procedures including removing & cleaning tools, work area housekeeping.
-      Maintain Process Control
-      Minor Process Adjustments as needed to produce quality parts.
-      Identify tooling and equipment repairs needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
-     2-5 years of experience in set-up and operation of plastic forming equipment
-     Good understanding of mechanical and control functions of machines
-     HS Diploma or equivalent.   Vocational, technical college or formal military mechanical training a plus.

LP Technicians

LP Technicians

Monitors/adjusts/cleans all process fiber producing equipment. Operates/troubleshoots and processes/equipment specific to the secondary stage of yarn production.  Takes samples and determines properties of the produced intermediate and finished products. Maintain records of operating parameters/raw materials used to produce products. Inspects/packs finished product; moves, measures, and maintain inventory.

ATech Class Announcement

Within the Advanced Manufacturing sector the need for technicians is in high demand. However, many companies require individuals to demonstrate that they can thrive in this environment by scoring a 3 or higher on the WorkKeys’ Applied Technology Assessment.

To help individuals achieve this task, PCC is offering a FREE 16-hour - Applied Technology (ATech) Class for those interested in skilling up in this critical area. This is an instructor-led class which focuses on the following key areas: Electricity, Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Fluid-Dynamics. Those successfully completing the class will be given the ATech assessment at No Cost. Class will be delivered over two Saturdays, Oct-24 and Nov-7, training schedule for both days is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (with a 30-min lunch break); the ATech Class will be held in Room 301 at the PCC Greenville Center (3107 S. Memorial Dr.)

To qualify, individuals:
1)      Must have a CRC with a score of 4 in Locating Information (LI).
2)      Must not have previously attended an ATech Class
3)      Must be willing to commit to 16 hours of training

Temporary Laborers in Electronics Recycling

ECVC has (4) openings for temporary Laborers for our E-recycling Department.  This position is responsible for assisting with sorting, and packaging the electronic waste materials that are collected.  Working around industrial trucks equipped to move materials in, out, and around a warehouse or factory.  In addition, the laborer will perform the duties and responsibilities of other positions when necessary.    The laborer must perform all the duties listed below. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort material into category.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Move materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Stack material in locations such as transit sheds or trailers as directed, using pallets or Gaylord’s.
• Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
• Wash out cargo containers or storage areas.
• Enforces safety regulations.
• Notifies supervisor of any deficiencies in material handling equipment.
• Trains worker in proper work methods, appropriate behaviors, and quality requirements.
• Communicates work area needs and/or problems to supervisor.

Machine Tender/V-Nailer in Framing

ECVC has an opening for a V-nailer in the Framing Department.  The hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.  This person needs to be alert to very poor quality molding, bad saw cuts, and v-nailer machine performance. The V-nailer takes two short sticks in one hand and two long sticks in the other hand and looks at them for repairable or non-repairable defects.  This person needs to be able to lift 45 lbs.  The ideal person needs to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Positions parts in specified relationships to each other using one or both hands.

Fastens parts together by hand, hand tools, or portable power tools.
