FT Shipping Supervisor

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a FT Shipping Supervisor in the Shipping Department. This position is primarily responsible for advising the shipping team with direction for the needs of our customers daily. It involves the daily set-up and coordination with team leader in providing our customers with quality service.

Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities are:

• Trains employees in proper work methods and quality requirements.
• Printing Labels for DLA orders along with unit labels for packaging and shipping.
• Completes Time Sheets for shipping team including vacation, sick, etc.
• Liaison for shipping between human resources, quality, programs, maintenance and production departments for a consistent workflow for all individuals involved.
• Set-up, packaging, and shipping for all Caterpillar battery orders.
• Enforces Safety Regulations.

Physical Demands

• Light work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 10-20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, walking or standing most of the time.
• Ability to hear and speak.
• Good visual acuity including depth perception, color discrimination, and peripheral vision.
• Ability to reach, handle, finger.
• Occasional stooping, crouching.
• Repetitive use of hands/arms.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience in an industrial setting is required.
• Valid Driver License and a safe driving record.
• Need to pass in-house forklift certification within the first 30 days of hire.
• IATA certification is required (International Air Traffic Control Association, Transporting Dangerous Goods).
