Temporary Laborers in Electronics Recycling

ECVC has (4) openings for temporary Laborers for our E-recycling Department.  This position is responsible for assisting with sorting, and packaging the electronic waste materials that are collected.  Working around industrial trucks equipped to move materials in, out, and around a warehouse or factory.  In addition, the laborer will perform the duties and responsibilities of other positions when necessary.    The laborer must perform all the duties listed below. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sort material into category.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Move materials to and from storage, production areas, loading docks, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Stack material in locations such as transit sheds or trailers as directed, using pallets or Gaylord’s.
  • Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
  • Wash out cargo containers or storage areas.
  • Enforces safety regulations.
  • Notifies supervisor of any deficiencies in material handling equipment.
  • Trains worker in proper work methods, appropriate behaviors, and quality requirements.
  • Communicates work area needs and/or problems to supervisor.

Physical Demands

·         Most of the time is spent standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms.

·         Repetitive use of hands/arms.
·         Frequent heavy (80-120 pounds) to very heavy (greater than 120 pounds) lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying required.
·         Good visual acuity including depth perception, color discrimination, and peripheral vision.
·         Frequent crouching, stooping, or bending.
·         Ability to hear and speak.

Work Environment

·         Work around moving machinery and equipment.
·         Repetitive use of hands/arms.
·         Frequent interruptions.
·         Exposure to extreme weather conditions (hot in summer; cold in the winter)
·         Exposure to noxious odors, dust, and/or dirt and noise.
·         Frequently working in proximity to moving, mechanical parts.

Education and Experience

·         No specific work experience required.

Other Requirements

·         Must pass background and fingerprinting check and drug screen.
·         CRC Preferred.

We can work around individuals school schedules, etc. but the work has to be done between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Monday – Fridays.  The pay will start at $9.00/hour.

Machine Tender/V-Nailer in Framing

ECVC has an opening for a V-nailer in the Framing Department.  The hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.  This person needs to be alert to very poor quality molding, bad saw cuts, and v-nailer machine performance. The V-nailer takes two short sticks in one hand and two long sticks in the other hand and looks at them for repairable or non-repairable defects.  This person needs to be able to lift 45 lbs.  The ideal person needs to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Performs one or more repetitive functions.

Positions parts in specified relationships to each other using one or both hands.

Fastens parts together by hand, hand tools, or portable power tools.

Moves materials throughout job site to supply workers with raw materials using hands, powered or non-powered conveyances.

Places specified number of products in containers and seals.

May have to count and record, depending upon the job.

Must be able to differentiate between acceptable and reject materials or products.

May use scales or forms to determine correct count.  Feeds stock into preset guides of machine.

Must be able to stand all day to perform the duties of the job.

Commercial/Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist:

Education:

Commercial/Consumer Loan Set-Up:
Job Description: This position is responsible for set-up of new commercial and consumer loans in the Bank’s systems and to ensure that loans are booked based on the terms and conditions approved by the Bank’s lending authorities. Perform a review of loans booked by other booking specialists. Monitor and process exceptions documented by post audit. Interact with branches regarding any fee discrepancies with closing documents.
Education:
Associates Degree in business or financial field is preferred.
Experience:
Two years loan set-up experience preferred.

Must possess good oral and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all types of clients, business associates and management. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Technical Support Analyst

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center, Inc. (ECVC) - has an opening for a full-time Technical Support Analyst in the area of IT.  This person will be responsible for providing quality desktop hardware and software support to the user community.  Duties include installation and maintenance of computers, servers, and peripheral equipment as well as maintaining associated operational documentation.
Additional Responsibilities include:
·         Provide assistance and work directly with the IT Manager when necessary.
·         Manage Helpdesk requests and relay information to IT Manager.
·         Document resolutions and close completed work orders.

Forklift Operator in E-Recycling

ECVC - has an opening for a Forklift Operator in E-Recycling.  This position is responsible for manually moving materials to the proper place in the E-Recycling warehouse.  Loads, unloads and moves materials within a work area.  Supply materials to workers in order to maintain the proper flow.  The ideal person needs to be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Move controls to drive forklifts to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
  • Move levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts and lift beams to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
  • Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning forklift and recharging batteries.
  • Safely move load around the warehouse to ensure timely and complete storage.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information.
  • Weigh materials or products, and record weight and other production data on tags or labels.
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.

Team Leader

ECVC - has a job opening for a Team Leader position in the Shipping & Receiving Department.

The primary function of this position is to be responsible for the use of effective communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, and/or train others to accomplish goals.  The Team Leader will be supervising shipping clerks, order fillers and all shipping functions.  This person will report to the Operations Manager for Production & Logistics.  A candidate with a minimum of five years experience with a single manufacturing company as a hands on supervisor for the shipment of freight by both LTL and parcel carriers using a computerized system such as UPS World Ship or FEDEX Ship Manager shall be considered for the position.  Experienced with shipping hazardous material.  Associate degree from a community college plus five years experience or a high school diploma or GED with 7 years of experience required.  CRC preferred.
